Natural dye extracts contain more pure and intense colors, unlike dry plant materials that are called ‘dyestuff’. While dyestuff should be used as much as the dry weight of the fiber to be dyed in order to obtain a medium-dark color, this ratio is 3% in extracts.

This package contains only dye extract. In order to obtain a permanent and saturated color, you should apply washing and mordanting to the fiber before dyeing.

We recommend that you have a look at our mordanting kits in accordance with the fiber (cotton, wool, silk) you will dye. Our kits describe in detail all the actions you need to take for mordanting.
